Line loads within slabs

Hi,

I have a model with a large slab that will support a small swimming pool near the middle. Instead of modelling the swimming pool walls, I will apply a line moment where the walls of the pool would meet the slab.

Because of the unusual shape of the pool, I want to define a contour, then use 'surface > linear loads on edges' to define these loads.

When defining a contour within the plane of an existing slab, it becomes an opening. I can change it to a panel or a cladding/face. Which is the correct option for this procedure? Does having a panel / cladding within a slab have any consequences in terms of design of the slab, meshing or otherwise?

Many thanks

Hi @Mohit_NOSA

When you create your contour be sur that you selected "polyline"

In addition to what @Simau  said , yes you can , alternatively ,define a new panel using contour definition ,representing the pool area , inside the big slab area . Robot will understand and will not double the slab thickness
