Help modeling railway rail on top of concrete slab and applying dynamic train load in Robot Structural

Hello everyone

I’m working on a structural model in Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis. I have already modeled a concrete slab, and now I need to add a railway track (rail) that goes across the entire slab.

My questions are:

How can I correctly model the railway rail (e.g., as a beam element or another method) on top of the slab?

How should I apply the dynamic load of a moving train on this setup? I want to simulate the real effect of a train passing along the rail over the slab.

If anyone has experience with this kind of model or any tips (especially on defining rail geometry and moving loads), I would really appreciate your help!

Thank you in advance.

Normally the rail profile is not modelled , just the slab , because it is assumed the rail will be firmly and continuously attached to the slab in a way that there will not be significant  internal forces  acting on it.. So apply the train vehicle loading directly to the slab

For the dynamic analysis , you can do it through a time history analysis available in RSA
