Global axis and local axis colours are confusingly different

I have noticed that the local panel axis had different colours to the global axis. For example my global x,y,z is red, green and blue in that order.

However the local panel colours use different colours for x,y, and z. This is confusing as I cannot find a key anywhere telling what colour is which anywhere. 

If someone knows where a key might be please let me know.

on Tools/preferences desktop settings , range "screen" then on "element"  select and change the color of the 3 axis to match those of the panel local axes
