Fixed Beam-Beam Connection Design Error

Hi,

I come across a strange error while design fixed beam-beam end plate connections.

The resistance of the bolt row nº1 is somehow drasticlly affected by minor changes of vertical spacing (pi) between rows.

As I present for the connections attached:

  1. Case 1 - First row resistance equals the punching shear resistance of the bolts (Bp,Rd). This is wrong as at most the resistance needs to have the upper limit of the bolt resistance itself.
  2. Case 2 - First row resistance takes into account the front plate in tension (Ft,ep,Rd). I'm not sure about the resistance value determined, but it drops significantly as expected when comparing to case 1.

Can you please exploit this 'bug' and delivery a service pack to fix it.

Kind regards,

RR
