error 101

Hi,

I have a simple 3D solid model (just testing purposes) and can't run an analysis due to error 101.

I've read previous posts, but I am not doing nonlinear analysis, nor I have a huge amount of elements.

I have tried to renumber elements starting from 1000, did not help, and "Method of solving the system of equations" is set to automatic by default.

What could be missing?

From first look - error is related to contour load.
Delete it -> model works OK

Thanks.

So what is the right way to apply the load than if not by contour? Thanks.0717_001.jpg

Should this load be of such weird shape?

Thanks Rafal, I can see my 3D was not 100% clear, strange...

The load I meant to show on my sketch was the second one applied in the second video. I was aplying it exactly the same way as you've shown in my origina example, but maybe because of mesh settings it did not work...

Thansk anyway

I thought so that's why I recorded first movie

So when you create objects without ACIS you can use regular mesh settings and when you use volumetric structure design template, slightly different "object porperties- meshing options" table pops up and I cannot find anoption to  use squarre mesh.. even if 4node elements are selected, traingles are used..

Would you advice to use regular "shell design" or building design template?

It depends on purpose.

For "structures" - shell or building - your choice

For such analysis as you want to make now - solid.
