Hello,

When trying to add earth pressure loads the volumetric weight of the different soils appear as "0" and also the units doesn't appear.Robot.png

Anyone knows what is happening?

Hi @Anonymous,

try to consult the soil database. You should have a list like shown in the figure below. If you do not have the list of type of soils, which would be strange, edit the table and include the parameters of your soil.

Thanks,

I think it was a problem with the soil database. I tried uploading another one and it worked.

Hi,

When traying to complete surface load data, RS ignores any number i try to input in the "P" field. After pressing Enter it just goes blank:

Any idea why this is happening?.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous ,

are the soil layers defined? If not, try to define a layer and then define the distributed load.

Hi,

Yes, i have defined the layered soils but still can´t type any value. Also there is something else i want to know: what´s the difference between "Unit Weight" and "Unit Weight of Solid"?:

Hope you can give some feedback. Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous,

with respect to the load, I do not know what the problem is. I can set a distributed load without any problem in my RSA2018. See the attached figures.
Regarding the densities, I think it cames from the definition of the soil mechanics. The Unit Weight is the specific weight and the Weight of Soilds is the bulk density (greater than the unit weight). The first one is the typical saturated density.
Regards.

Thanks for you answer @jmmarin .

Suposse i don´t have the saturated density, only the bulk density. Should i complete both fields with the same number?.

About the loads, i will guess that there´s some issue caused between the defined database, codes, languaje, etc that´s creating the conflict and it´s not allowing the imput o a value in the field...

Thanks!
