Distorted elements (only in solid structure type)

Hi everyone, quick question here.

I am designing a water tank and I'm using solid elements and plates.

When I am in the 'volumetric structure design' module, everything works fine. However when I switch to 'the 'shell design module', the analysis do not work and I get the warning 'distorted elements'.

Any idea where it comes from?

Have a good day,

Mathias.

Hi @mathias_peron

I'm not sure what you mean by 'shell design module'. Do you mean that you change the model type from a solid to a shell having volumetric objects in your model? If so, this is not supported operation and it should not be done.

Hi Artur,

I mean when I go to Geometry / Structure Type and I change from Volumetric Structure Design to Shell Design.

Hi @mathias_peron

This can be done only after you delete solids from the model as such element types are not supported in this model type. it is the same as if you change model type from a building/shell to frame having floors and walls defined.
