Creating new profiles

Hi,

i'm trying creating new profiles z-shaped.

I'm working in section definition enivroment and importing a dxf profile to create it.

Everything works well but when attempting to calculate it there is a problem with the lateral buckling, it's not calculated. It seems to be a problem of the web and flange thicknes and wide definition, as they appear as 0 mm values, so the XLT is 1 and lateral buckling is not calculated.

I don't understand why, i have worked in the past with other z-shape profiles from standards and i hadn't this problem.

Anyone could help me?

Many thanks in advance

Jorge

Try to work on 3d and not 2d. It seems that there is a bug regarding Z sections on 2d.

Hi,

thanks for your answer.

Actually I'm not sure what you mean. I've imported a .dxf file with the contour section

Definition.jpg

But when attempting to see this section in the database the problem begins:

Section 2.jpg

Thicnesses and radia seem not to have been define properly as thay appear as 0 value.

And finally when attempting to check buckling or lateral buckling these check are not carried out:

I don't know exactly why, but it seems there is a lack of section properties:

I think i'm working with what you mean as 3D section, as I draw the real perimeter of the section not just the middle line.

Please, further help?

Thanks in advance

Jorge
