Core Wall Construction-Beginners Sequence

I am new to this type of modeling on Robot and I am wondering if anyone has a good sequence for constructing 40m+ high core walls?

 

I have tried to define multiple storeys from base to roof and then to assign walls to the roof storey and set the total height of the wall to reach the base. This doesnt seem to be working however, as i am  getting error messages saying geometry of storey exceeded and elements assignned to different storey etc...

 

I have also tried to model contour lines and then panels in the hope of using the Core wall section in additional attributes, but i cant seem to draw the contour lines accros several storeys?

 

Has anyone got a good sequence of construction for creating these walls which span several storeys?

Walls - from storey to storey (from slab to slab), not long big ones.

Hi Rafal, thanks for your reply.

 

That is the way I have started to model the structure this morning!

 

I am building walls from storey to storey and then assigning core walls to the total wall, am I right in proceeding this way?

 

Also, I am not modeling floors in my core, but simply applying line loads to the core walls at the various stories simulating the load from the landings/half landings/stairs within.

Do you think it is it still ok to span the walls from storey to storey with no floors spanning between walls and to model the loads in this way, or would you see any problems with this method?

No floors means diaphragms instead I guess?

In this example - claddings should be created from floor to floor for Wind Simulation purposes

No, I havent modeled any diaphragms, what I am modeling is a concrete lift shaft so its stability is inherent in its shape (see attached), essentially a concrete tower.

I now hope to apply line loads to the internal walls of this structure to simulate the loading from stairs onto landings and then from landings into the core walls.

Clear now.
So if you are not concerned about results on each storey \ storey level of corewall it can me made like that. Otherwise it is recommended to split walls.
(hint : Edit \ Cut by plane....)

Thanks Rafal,

 

But I think I have already split walls like you said (see attached).

 

Each wall spans between storeys as is shown in red, meaning there is 337 walls in total in the structure, but these are then grouped into, say 10 core walls.

 

One more question, what is the purpose exactly of group the walls into core walls?
