Cladding draws incorrectly despites snapping to nodes

Hi,

 

So I'm coming across this issue where the cladding is not drawing correctly and being very slightly offset from the intended location, which doesn't allow me to distribute load through those claddings. I've drawn it using the contour tool and snapping to the nodes, but it seems that the slope of this overhang (about 15 degrees pitch) is causing a geometric offset to the cladding as seen in the second photo. You can see in the first photo that the cladding works correctly when made the overhang flat (parallel to XY plane).

 

I've tried using the correction tool and checking the coordinates to 9 decimals, but everything indicates that the cladding and the nodes are aligned. Although I could always just manually estimate using line loads, a cladding is the more efficient method.

 

Any ideas what's causing this and how to resolve?

Sometimes it is possible to create non-planar contours and they are difficult to rework with 3D coordinates. It is preferable to redo them.
Could you share your model?

It's the clean original model with one cladding drawn.

 

I've never had issues with contours being non-planar and I've tried re-drawing it one to ensure it is 100% flat cladding (not sloping 2-ways).

 

Hope you have more luck playing around with it!

Hi @gary.iwansantoso6FRXD 

As the length of the bars is different and the slope is the same, the level z of the edge nodes will be different;
even with 9 decimal this will not be visible in nodes table coordinates
You may apply the same length to all the external member

@Simau - I tried that as well and made sure that the Z coords of the start and end nodes are the same to make sure it's a flat cladding, but the problem still persists.

 

One of my colleagues suggested that it might have been an issue in the 10th decimal or further, which we won't be able to see. I doubt that would be the issue though.

Hi,

 

Used detailed correct on the members that are supposed to be on the same surface. Then redraw the cladding (see the attached pictures)Picture_1.pngPicture_2.pngPicture_3.png

Thanks @MartinTrs  that solves the problem! I didn't select the nodes when using the Detailed Correct tool (thought it wouldn't affect it).
