Change repere of results

Dear all

I am beginner with robot software, and I would like to change the coordinate system of post processing.

According to the picture attached, a traction and bending forces are applied to the extremity of a beam. The beam is considered as cantilever.

In my mind, the negative stress and positive stress correspond to compressive and traction stress respectively, but in the picture the Normal stresses for the loaded beam show that the negative stress correspond to traction and red color to compression.

Is it possible to change the coordinate system for the post processing?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

Frédéric

if your question is whether it can change the color map with colors that you do like
yes, you can set them as you wantcolormap stress.jpg

also you have global and local coordinate system

local coordinate system is about the profile and panels

and axial direction of profile is always local X  by default. You can see the red arrow on your pic which is local X

the colors of global XYZ and local XYZ are equal

also you can change local directionlocal bar direction.jpg

Thanks very much Vanvan for your answer,

But if I change the local coordinate system (X axis from bottom to top) it doesn't change the sign of the stress.

I did another example with simple beam with compression force, and the result should show negative stress in the beam but as it is mentionned on the picture attached, the stress is positive.

Is it possible to change the mind of robot, and calculate the stresses not with reaction forces (internal) but with the forces applied on the frame?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

Frédéric

Thanks Vanvan for your answer.

So you confirm me that Robot represents tension stress as negative stress.

Did you already meet the case?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

Frédéric

Bars : compression - positive ; tension - negative

Shells: compression - negative; tension - positive
