Cannot Find Related Section Definition for Custom Member Verification

Hi,

 

I need to use double UC beam on top of each other and I simply mirrored / copied it to create the desired cross-section. I check the stress analysis, and it seems there is no issue with stress or load transfer between two UCs.

 

When I wanted to save this custom cross-section, I couldn't find the related shape for member verification.

Is it possible to code check a cross-section like this with RSA?

Seems is not possible. See the list of section and shapetype here:

 

Correct shapetype it´s necessary for Robot to do  steel design.

I modelled a similar cross-section with idea statica and when I check the beam, it only checks based on yield strength and shows the deflections of similar double I section. I can get those values from Robot too with 3D stress analysis option.

I understand we don't have an exact shape code check parameter in Robot for this case, but we can still select a similar shape in section definition to save it and check it manually based on equivalent stress and deflection, right?

Yes, it is possible to approximate this welded section by comparing it to a similar neighboring shape to obtain an estimated result.
