Hi,

When I try to change the material on the section definition for a composite section there is no selection available. I was able to use it before in previous version.

hi, I do understand how to do the section in RSAP as I am using it since 2010 but stopped in 2017 when I changed my workplace. Only now, I changed companies again and using RSAP 2023. I am trying to do the same for the above section (aluminum with steel insert) in won't let me change the material. I don't know if the procedure was fundamentally changed from the 2017 version to the 2023.

Hi @laurencesarmiento

Are you sure that you used different materials for each shape?  There should be different color for the hatch pattern.

Then in case of composite section, the choice of materials should be listed for Base Material and weighted values calculation.

hi, yes pretty sure I used two different materials. The outer is aluminum and the inner is steel (two different shades of green).

The problem is the aluminum won't show on the drop down box when analyzing the profile properties.

I normally used to this on the older versions (2017) but I haven't tried this method in the newer versions.

@laurencesarmiento

I did the test on 2023 version.

You may save the *.sec file and share for checking, if you want.

Zip the file and attach to the post.
