Bent bars reinforcement method

Perhaps i don't know how to use bent bars (double bend) cause in 2011 version there is a bug every time i tried to put them manually because automatically it seams IMPOSSIBLE

I don't undertstand, in older version (2010 and 19) it is simple to use them. I pry you to help me because i have one entire project in 2011 version (beams), i cannot convert them in 2010 and i cannot use the bent bars. Help me it's very serious

Hi Jeanne,

Wich code do you use? EC2, BAEL, BS8110, ACI318-02, ...?

I assume by your explanation that you want to have reinforcement like this:

Right?

If you use the BAEL code, It will be fine Smiley Wink

So,

1- you've to check the reinforcement pattern:

2- add a concentrated load, switch on the suspended option and enter the  distribution lenght:

You'll find attached an example done on RSA2011_SP6, if you don't install the last updates of RSA2011, please check them here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?siteID=123112&id=2334435&linkID=13140816

I find the problem

It is a bug in the definition of the suspended load, When i use relatived dimension to define loads cordinates it works

But When the option "relatived dimension" is disable bent bars can't be used

You can see pictures on attached files

Thank you very much

Jeanne,

You're right, the workaround for this is to enter the real position of the concentrated load and switch on after the "Relative dimensions" to convert this distance automatically, thank you for your help and i will give you a kudo for this 🙂

Does this also work for primary/secondary beams exported from the analysis module?
