Hi I was wondering if the results that robot shows about drift or displacement were they multiplied by Cd/I or not ? And if they were multiplied could you prove that ?

Hi @Robolink

This is an international forum, and members are not expected to know all the abbreviations. Could you tell us what Cd/I means and what regulation it refers to?

In asce 7 16 code it said that the elastic displacement or drift should multiplied by Cd/i  where ( Cd = amplification factor and i=importance factor) to be inelastic displacement and drift, but some engineers said that robot structural analysis did that by itself and show the results ( displacement) after it has multiplied it with Cd/i. So is that true?

Hi @Robolink

Yes it's right as in other codes (EC 8 for example)

Take a look at this small exemple, you see Robot that results are multiplied by 5  from Cd=5 and Cd=1.

You can do the same with Cd/I

Cd=1

Cd=5
