(API) Multiply a load case

Hello people,

Is there a way to multiply by one number all the loads I have in one load case?
Like when I do wind loads and I want to quickly change the wind speed without changing hundreds of values.
I would like to do this without changing the combination factor.

You may want to define a new combination with a required multiplier and then use this combination in the definition of other combinations with the 'standard' load factor .

Addin in Polish (attached) but it is simple to use it:

- select load case in Robot

- start addin

- use button on top

- specify factor (Wspolczynnik)

- use button at the bottom

I like both ideas. Thank you guys

Rafal, I tried your add-in.

When I use it, it doesn't seem to take the decimal point of the factors (Wspolczynnik) into account.

If I enter 0.1, it multiplies my loads by 1

If I enter 0.10, it multiplies my loads by 10
If I enter 0.2 it multiplies my loads by 2
If I enter 1.2 it multiplies my loads by 12...

I tried with a point and a comma, same results.
I am using Robot 2015, if it changes anything.

I would really like to use the add-in, but as it is now I can't.
Maybe a problem with me not being Polish.

Try 0,1 (comma instead of dot)

I have followed the same steps (0.8 then 0,5 if I'm not mistaken) and this is what I get (in screenshots because I don't know how to do the video thing):

However, it works when I enter something without the first zero, like ,5 or .5

So it seems that the add-in works differently on my computer than on yours, doesn't it?

Anyway I can work with that, I just have to be careful I guess.

What is your Windows system? W7 W8 W10?

What is your decimal separator set in Windows system?

Run attached addin for test as previously.

There should be 3 (or 4) messages displayed after using bottom button. Dump them and post  here.

Do I post the messages I get or my Robot file?

I use W7, and here are my settings:

Ah, ça se pourrait bien, faut toujours que les français soient differents ! 😉
Mon systeme est britannique, mais c'est bizarre que ça coince à ce niveau là, on ecrit des valeurs decimales avec des zeros devant la virgule ici aussi.
Au pire ça ne me derange pas trop, mais au moins maintenant si un mec tombe sur ce post et veut utiliser cet appli, il sera prevenu qu'il faut faire gaffe.

Set Digit Grouping Symbol = "nothing" instead of "comma"

Set List Separator = "semicolon" instead of "comma"

Then try

Oh, my bad, I thought you were French and talking about your system.
No mine is British, and I'd like not to tweak the settings too much and end up with issues on other programs.
But it's fine as it is now, I can remember not to put the first zero.
It's just a good thing to warn anyone who'll end up reading this post in the future.

Thank you again for your help.

Yeah I see that can be misleading, but I now work in the UK. I'll get around to changing my profile, someday.

Hello,

this API interested me but it works only for the case corresponding to self weight, is it normal?

Thank you.
