Hi,
We started using Revit 2015 for reinforcement detailing about six months ago. We are now using Update Release 4. We have found Revit to be adequate for reinforcement detailing of simple orthogonal constructions, despite lacking some fairly basic functions.
Recently, huge memory leaks have occured in two of our models. When showing certain rebar distributions in section or plan views, Revit lags and eats all of our 32 GBs of RAM, making the model close to impossible to work with. Needless to say, this is a problem for a consulting company.
We have found that the problem is not present in course detail level or 3D views. We have not experienced the problem related to non bent rebars, only stirrups. We managed to isolate one problem distribution, deleting it and recreating it, which did not seem to make a difference. The problem is identical on all computers. Beyond that, the lagging of the models makes experimenting with isolating the problem further difficult and time consuming.
Does anyone have tips to solving this issue? Any information is appriciated!
Regards,
Magnus Alseth
Hi Autodesk,
I imagine the fact that this topic has been "escalated" means it has been created an internal case for this bug. Does this mean that the Autodesk team will prioritize to patch it? Can you estimate how long we need to except this bug to remain unpatched?
We will need to take this under consideration when diciding on software for reinforcement detailing in upcoming projects.

Hello,
would it be possible to get your file to make some tests on it?
We need to check what is the problem and be able to isolate possible fixes.
It would be also very useful if you test the lates Preview Realease version of Revit from November and check if you see any improvement.
This version you can find on Autodesk web side.
Kind regards
