Work place question

Since i dont have any on the job experience with Revit my question is this. When i am working on a 3d model and i am creating sheets such as plans and details and elevations,i see all the drawings are contained in that file. If someone in the office needed to work on one or 2 of those sheets while i was in the model drawing how does that work?

There are different options to solve it. He could link the Revit file in a new project. In that new project he could create views and sheets.

Of course the views and sheets are then in another project. This could be a disadvantage.

Other option is to make use of worksharing (on the colloborate tab). You then create a central file. Different user can make a local copy of that file and work in their local file. They then can save back their data to the central file. A starting point in the help files.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

When i used my old program "Autodesk Architectural Desktop" the model file was always a separate 3d file designated with an "x" e.g. XS101.DWG

S meaning structural. All the sheets were in a sheet folder as per structure they were part of. That way multiple people could go into the drawings and add or make changes as a deadline approached. Since i only have Revit exp. here at home i was just kind of wondering about that should i accept a job in the future. Thanks for your feed back.
