Wood post showing as "X" on floor below, showing as solid on floor it's modeled on.

I am wondering how I can get a wood post to show up as "X" on the floor below the one that it is modeled on. I used to work for a company that had a family that did this, but I'm not sure how it was set up.

Within the family you need to add symbolic details lines representing the “X” and set the visibility preferences for this I would suggest setting the visibility of these to show in section, perhaps in fine detail only.
