hello

i want to create the shape shown in the attached picture (named "required"), what i did is i picked a circular column, i made a void extrusion of a circle, locked it to the upper level then i arrayed that extrusion radially.

the problem is, after i load the family to the project, the circle column is extended but the void does not, can you help me please?

hi

you have to align the void with the top & Bot. of the column and associate it using the lock icon

see below screen shot i have made one alignment as an example.

if you only need it for a specific size, instead of using voids (which tent do bog down your families and models) why not just edit the extrusion shape to include the grooves? there may a way to add parameters to the shape so it can be adjustable, i just didn't have time at this moment 🙂
