TOS levels in coarse view.

Hi there,

I'm having some issues trying to show TOS levels for steel framing elements which are shown as coarse (stick model) elements.

To obtain the reference for the Top of the steel beam, I temporarily set the view to show framing as fine as shown in the image above.

When changing this back to coarse view mode, the level reference disappears as shown below.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Lewis

That is expected because a Spot elevation needs actual geometry to snap onto. You may need to add reference plane matching the TOS and use it to host the spot elevation.

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply. To confirm, this is a plan drawing, I can't see how I can show the level on a reference plane in plan view.

Many thanks,

Okay that's a bit strange because I can tag spot elevations to the end points of a beam on coarse plan view just fine. Do you have to place tags in the middle of beams?

You could also create a framing tag and add the Elevation at top label.  Obviously it only works for non-sloped beams but you wouldn't want it for sloped beams anyway.
