Thickened Slab on Plan

I have added a thickened slab to the perimeter of my building, and now I have three lines on my foundation plan (see the first picture). I would only like to display the edge of slab (the line on the outside of my building). I am working in Revit 2018 if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

your actually getting 4 lines, 2 hidden lines and one from the bevel on the edge. if you change to on thin lines you'll see that too...

that said,

  • you can set your Show Hidden Lines to None in the view properties.
  • you can also use the linework tool to set them to invisible line.

1. I set my show hidden to none and I still have all four lines displaying

2. Where are you setting the lines to invisible? I changed the profile lines to invisible lines the the profile that is associated with the thickened slab that I created and that did not change anything.

Thank you!

I want to see my edge of slab, which happens to be the edge of the thickened slab. If I turn off the thickened slab in my visibility, then my edge of slab is were the slab meets with the thickened slab, about a foot back from where it should be.

No need to use the linework tool.

To do this correctly and permanently you have to edit the Revit.ini file.  The file is located here:

C:\Users\"USER"\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 201*.

Under the [Graphics] section add the line :

HiddenSlabEdge=Other

[Graphics]
ShowMaterialEditor=1
TempDimFontSizeInPoints=11
Antialiasing=1
AntialiasingOptions=1
SemiTransparent=1
HiddenSlabEdge=Other

The options are:

All = show all hidden lines for slab edges

Itself = show the bearing or hidden edges (default)

Other = show the edge intersecting the slab

None = show no hidden lines for slab edges
