Superimpose as built points in the Revit Model

Hi,

I didn't use Revit before and i don't have idea how it working, but as i understood from my colleagues that you can build model for the building then you can create section at any location of the building

My question is if i got as built of the building (3D points) and insert to the model of Revit then recreate the sections of the building , are the 3D points will appear in the new sections??

Thanks

What do you mean by 3D Points? do you have a point cloud from a laser scanner?

if you have a point cloud, you can bring that into Revit and it will show in Section, Elevation, plan, etc.... when you place the point cloud, make sure you place it on a separate workset so you can easily turn it on/off as needed.

Your points seems to be survey points.

Yes your points can be converted into a topography which you can take sections at.

You will need to export the points into excel (CSV) then import it to a Topography in Revit.

You can also ignore the CAD step and ask site to provide the points in CSV format (x,y,z). It's easy for surveyors.  then import it directly to Revit.
