Structural Joist Bearing Plate - How to Host

I am looking to create a family  that can be hosted to the end of a structural framing member (bar joist primarily).  What I am trying to do is to model the bearing plate and then pull the top of bearing plate elevation out for a schedule.  

the first step however would be trying to get a base plate model hosted to the end of the steel framing member (see attached)

What is the best Revit family to do this?

I would use the structural stiffener revit family template file to create the connection.
