Sloping Precast Slab (roof) segmentation?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Revit 2021.1.1

Trying out the newly integrated precast segmentation capabilities.

Works great for walls...not so great for a roof (sloping).

We can perform the segmentation if the slab is level, but the segmentation will not occur if the slab is sloped.

Looks like some of the add-ins can segment sloping slabs, but the ADSK add-in does not currently provide segmentation of a sloping slab?

Tried to rotate the parts after segmenting the floor, but all we received was an error dialog.

What is recommended workflow for sloping precast panels (or double tees)

Thanks.

M.

HI @Anonymous ,

Precast work only for planar elements. Once you have a sloping slab or wall the automation in terms of segmentation and reinforcement generation is not possible anymore. One workflow would be to create parts using the Create Parts command and add reinforcement to corresponding parts. Add the part and reinforcement inside an assembly, and you will be able to create shop drawings.

Here you can find more information about this:

Please send me an example on what are you trying to achieve and I can create a screen cast.

Kind regards,

Sir,

Appreciate the reply and link.

Shared view of the small model I'm utilizing to work with the precast tools.

https://autode.sk/2MOzpYT

Solid roof panel, 12" @ 1/2" / 12" roof slope.

Insulated wall panels, 5"/2"/5"

Non-prestressed panels.

Storm Shelter, so everything is "BIGGER" than expected.

Regards,

M.

Hi @teodorb

How do you manually determine the center of gravity if I have a hole in my slab
