Shear wall and slab overlapping

Greetings all,

I'm new to Revit and am trying to build a multi-storeyed building. IN the building, how should a shear wall go through a slab all the way to the top? SHould I draw a slab opening for the shear wall or Should I join geometry?

And where can I learn how to draw structure models according to industry standards such that I can survive in today's world when I finish my education

Hi @rako826,

Join geometry and switch join order between slab and wall usually work in that scenario. No need to create opening in slab to penetrate wall. For learning structural modelling in revit there is plenty of tutorial available in youtube and linkedin etc.also I recommend to read the Revit help manual in order to fully capture the concept in revit from below link.
