When you add a connection on the one end of a beam, the “Join Cutbacks” parameters disappear from the “Geometric Position” properties dialog box.

So, until you add a connection on the other end of the beam, the beam flanges at the end without a connection extends through the column flanges to the center line of the column.  It seems that the unconnected end should still show the “Join Cutback” parameter in the Geometric Position area of the properties dialog box until a connection is added to the respective end connection.

Hi,

This is a known limitation when adding the steel fabrication on a beam. The Start and End Join Cutbacks are lost, both of them.
