Hello dear Autodesk Users and specialists.

i have been using the latest version of revit for 7 months, but since then i am facing a problem everytime i try to edit a family like wall or window or even the sheet. i have realized it is not only me and a friend of mine has the same problem.

The error keeps coming" Revit encountered a serious error. The current action could not be completed" and doesn't allow me to even exit the application. the error is shown in figure below. i even tried to reinstall the app and update to the latest version but no changes were found.

Anyone has any similar issue or knows the solution. please share the information with us

the software has been updated to revit2023.1 but i still get this error. the type of family doesn't matter. it just keep showing error for any type of family ( in my recent case i use the sheet family to edit ). my device is windows 11,  core i7 ram 8Gb DDR4 ( Lenovo ideapad 310 ). the size of the revit file is 42mb.

after clicking on editing the family the file shows constant errors. it does not allow me to do any other action after i click edit. so all i can do for this situation is to stop the software from task manager.

Is it happening even if you open a new project and edit family in it?

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Close all Revit Sessions on the affected machine.
Rename the following file (instead of removing the folders listed in the solution below): C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%\DDGraph
Restart Revit.
Alternatively:
Copy and paste a healthy DDGraph file from another machine, where the issue is not reproducible.

If the above steps do not help, clear the content of the following folders:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%

%USERNAME% should be your windows login name.

%VERSION% should be your Revit version.

Good day

I have encountered a similar error message when trying to export sheet to PDF or to print.

I have tried to use the solution - to delete the files in Roaming\Revit 2024 and Local\Revit 2024 but still encounter the same error.

Any advice on what else i can try?

Thank you
