R2023 printing settings.

I’d like to change some R2023 DEFAULT printing settings.

By Default – The Display Filter & Hide unchecked is set to:

By Default – I’d like for the DEFAULT settings to permanently be set to:

Please advise. Thank you, David

Thanks!

That seems odd to me.

The most common printing is actual Sheets.   The Default should be SHEETS autodesk.

I've been working in the industries and plotting for 28 years. In all the years I've worked on Revit in my career, I have never wanted to, or needed to, print 2D and 3D views. Only sheets. And only in sheet number ascending order. I don't understand the logic of defaulting to everything being printed and what seems to be in random order. Where are these people's heads at? Additionally, I'm really tired of adjusting the settings so frequently. It seems Revit becomes less smart with every subsequent version so that every year, more effort is required to accomplish the same tasks. Ain't nobody got time for that! And, by the looks of it, neither do the people at Autodesk working on putting out new versions of Revit. These unchangeable default settings feel like some folks didn't get to finish their project and it just went out and never got looked at again, because if it was by design, ......smh......bless their hearts.

I feel your pain. Added the plotting issues to a "Wish List" back in 2008 when the first MEP versions started coming out.  Have never understood why they haven't even tried to upgrade the plotting to better match what can be done in AutoCAD. Revit is a horrible joke set upon us by AutoDesk that has us crying and them laughing to the bank. So many of the default setting throughout the program are just frustratingly wrong. Can't even setup a default plotter, let alone printer settings. They need to stop using the old MS System printing modules and write their own like they did for AutoCAD.

Agreed. I'll occasionally print a loose view, but it's rare compared to printing sheets. We need a way to control the defaults. Same thing for tag settings, especially since the changes in R25 have made it harder to switch between leader/no leader and attached/free.

Autodesk....First precept when trying to make Revit more user friendly....Do NO harm!   Next: Listen to the end users.  Thanks!! 🙂
