Restricting write access to Revit template and still be able to use the template.

I'd like to restrict write access to my firms template file to just a few people that can edit it so it doesn't get saved over by mistake. I've locked down the file to read & execute permissions only but that is giving an access denied error message. Does anyone know what permissions are needed / a better way to avoid accidental edits to the template file?

talk to your IT people about Security Groups in Windows (if thats not what you are doing).

If you don't have an IT person, save a copy and toggle the properties to Hidden so it's less likely to be discovered (and then tampered).
