Restraining section views to a modeled element or gridline

Is it possible to restrain a section to a modeled member? The intent is to allow a section and all of the annotated information to move with a modeled member (beam, joist, etc.). Currently, if a change is made to a beam line after I have detailed the sections; I have to go to each section along that beam line and adjust all of the annotated items to match the adjustment. This could also work if it could be restrained to a gridline (like a column). All thoughts or work-arounds are appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for your post! There is currently no way to constrain a section view, as in order to constrain you need to dimension to an element and this is not possible. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!
