Reinforcement laying out at beam/slab section

Hi,

I have this problem to place the rebar at the top side of the beam, since there is a slab, when I place the reinforcemnt it allows me to place it only below the slab. How do I accomplish to place the rebar on the top side of the beam?

One more doubt regarding the turndowns Type 17 on the rebar schedule. My beam ends at the outside face of the column per the framing plans. Now generallyspeaking hw is the turn down lenght decided. If its the case of modelling from the shop drawings, how do I place the turndown length and the by default how does revit do that?

fIrst, Use Switch Order from join command drop-down list in the modify tab!

Second Inquiry, Use sketch Reinforcement or edit sketch of shape 17 after placing.

Thanks, Ibrahem Naeem switch order.png

Hi Wayne,

Have you tried sketching the bar? Even if you Sketch it in the Slab you can change the host to the beam. 🙂

About the segment lengths: each bar segment or start/end of bar will search for the nearest face and connect itself to the cover of that face.

That will lead to the effect you mentioned.

In your particular example I would recommend using Sketch. This way you will have the exact shape and length you need. 🙂

If you need help with anything please let me know.

Cristina
