Why my Revit 2015 student version that i downloaded in Autodesk has no Rebar shape Templates loaded, I can't use the rebar icon theres nothing on it, how can i get that ?
Hello Joe,
you have REVIT STRUCTURE 2009 I think. The other guy got REVIT 2015, 2016 or 2017. It is different. Yours comes with the librarie and for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 version, the user get to download the librairie and most of the time, it doesn't work.
Just an answer.
Hey,
As an alternative you could install the trial version of SOFiSTiK Reinforcement Detailing and get a template + rebar shapes. It is available for Rvit 2014 - 2017.
Have a look here:

Does that solve your issue?
Please search for 'RebarShapes' on your computer. copy the folder here
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2017\Libraries\RebarShapes
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your answers. I tried this and it does work so I think if soeone else has the same problem like I had, he could use it.
1- From the uninstall, desinstall all content libray of revit 2016 if it is revit 2016 you have or revit content library 2017 if it is revit 2017 that you have on your PC.
2- Connect to the internet
3- Insert the DVD/CD in your PC or the REVIT Flash drive
4- From desinstall REVIT, click on add
5- Click on Content library
6- Chose the libray you want like US Metric or US Imperial
7- Install
Does it work?
Hi, there are different ways to get the rebar shape family, but in this case you can find the families in the "US Metric" file. Open it.
Trough this way you will find "US Metric File", then ...
Then click on " structural rebar shape file" and ....
Upload the families in the project that you are working 😃
@stevetatrowrote:
I searched and found nothing, so I'm asking for some expert help.
When I try to model some reinfocing in a concrete wall I get the following message: "No Rebar Shape family is loaded in the project. Would you like to load one now?" Problem is, I can't find one. I assume there's one that came with RS, but I sure as heck can't figure out where.
Thanks for any help!
Steve
