rebar set in columns (noob)

I am starting to learn rebar modelling. My first project is a rectangular column and footing. When I draw the vertical rebar in the column I can't figure out how to draw it as a set of four or group it so that the similar bars show up as a single line in the rebar schedule which is annoying me. Can I draw a set that is in a box formation, or can I merge the individual items in the schedule?

Hi @Anonymous. If i uderstand you correctly... In order not to model each bar, you can change layout rule for rebar set. And in the schedule add parameter for sorting and uncheck "Itemize every instance."

That's great thank you, I didn't realise I could build a set from two non-linear bars.

1. You can select both of them and make array. But sometimes it is not good.

2. Try uncheck "Itemize every instance". You will se, that revit automatically merge everything. After that you will need to add sorting parameters.
