rebar schedule quantity

I am trying to schedule rebar for some rebar shop drawings.  I can get the schedule to work as long as I “itemize every instance”.  I then try to combine identical bars by giving them the same Schedule Mark and all is good.  Let’s say I have two Mk.-1 #4 bars that are 20’-0” long and I am grouping by schedule Mark.  The schedule shows two lines with quantity of (1) Mk.-1 bars.

If I un-check the "itemize every instance" button I should get 2 bars that are 20’-0” long but instead the schedule shows 1 that is 40’-0” long.  It adds the bar length and not the quantity which is completely backwards of what it should be.

Is there any way to make this work?

Hi Hayden,

I would suggest trying the following:

1. Edit the Schedule Properties.
2. Go to the Formatting tab.
3. In the Fields pane, highlight Quantity.
4. In the right pane, check the box to Calculate Totals.
5. Click OK to exit the dialog.
   
   

The Quantity field should update to show the total number. Is this what you are looking for?

Hi, I have a similar issue. I have drawn and copied some rebar and the schedule has shown them all as separate yet they are the same with the same mark. How do I correct this. Sorry total novice. Did what was advised but still the same and I’m assuming it’s a formula or parameter that needs changed.
