Project browser/ properties bar size changes when opening sheet or view (revit 2024)

Sometimes when I open a sheet or view in de the project browser, the size (width) changes by itself. See also attached image.

This happened only in rvt 24 but not in 21.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Or is this just a bug?

This a known issue and lots of threads on here with workarounds if changing resolution and monitor settings and docking etc. but there is no one fix!

I have had it with the last 3 releases on different laptops where my Project Browser shrinks to a thinner representation I have to manually change it but in 2025 after all updates it appears to have settled down a bit!

Thanks! I also docked the project browser on the left and the properties bar on the right to prevent the problem, but I was hoping there was a better solution.

It was interesting to see many people presenting Revit with the PP and the PB switched as it was always shown PP left & PB right and I always thought “is this strategic or out of necessity?”

Ah I don't know. This is what's most common in the Netherlands. Also how I learned it from the beginning.

I think the PB is what you use the most, so I also prefer this one to be the closest to the modelling space. Other than that I don't think it matters a lot. 😛
