Hi
1- I built a 40' by 28' building the walls are 12 feet high by 10" wide.
2- when i did the precast split command it perfectly put in 3 plates on my corners
3- so now i went and put in only one window on each wall and did the precast split command again it wont put in corner plates
4- These are the configuration settings i am useing
5- I think I have tried every configuration setting there is.
thanks John
Hi
more info on corner plates
1-it works perfect on Butt or squared corners but once i set my wall to have a miter ( 45 degree) corner it will not put any plates in there.
Hi @Anonymous,
Could you please provide the model for this or the portion that causes you issues?
Kind regards,
1---model 2018.2
2---can you draw a simple square building with butt corners and run precast split command.using these configuration settings. (Config photo 1)
3---Now this is what i am looking for
4--next
5---so now we will do the same thing except we will change our corners from butt to mitro and add windows to my walls .using the same split command as in photo 1.
6..please tell me what you get .
7--in my project i am getting no plates in my horizontal corners.
8..PLEASE NOTE: if you remove windows from wall and run step 5 you will get plates in your corner but when you put windows in they are not there .
here are 2 photos
1---i am using the same configuration with both photos
2---but on one photo I removed the windows.
3--- What am I doing wrong?
4---Why cant I get the same results as the one without windows on my corner anchor plates?
Hi @Anonymous,
In order to have anchor plates on any configuration for the wall join (butt, square, mitter) you should have No Selection for all entries (i.e. Profile Frontal Wall Connection, Profile Side Wall Connection, Profile T-Connection, , Horizontal Profile and Nooses). You should have the family Solid Wall - Anchor Plates in the Cast in Plate entry. Doing so you would obtain the anchor plates on the side of the wall. See attached image.
If you need to have the families on front/end of the wall you should have the configuration as you have set it in the photo. Indeed, when you are adding a window we rec-calculate the assembly. If you would like to keep the changes, you could turn of the precast add-on, add the windows and after that turn on the add-on.
Kind regards,
