HELP!!!

I'm a relative novice in Revit and am having trouble trying to get my views to look as required.

I have a simple steel frame modelled up and have a plan and sections looking at it. Is there any way of scheduling the components (columns, beams, bracing) by different colours and/or hatches without having to 'override graphics in view' for every view?

Cheers in advance

I have.

All components shown as green as they are new construction and I cant see how 'new construction' can be sub-categorised to differentiate between different components?. I would like to distinguish each type of component using colours and/or hatches, then be able to create a schedule accordingly.

Okay so what you are looking for is not Phasing graphic overrides but category overrides. Type VG ro explore the categories and override their graphics.

That wouldn't allow me to differentiate between a UB254 and UB152 say, would it??? That's the whole point. I want my views to show UB254 in blue and UB152 in red for example, and then that to be replicated in a schedule.

Then you need to go to another level of overrides, called View Filters. There you setup different filters based on criteria such as Family, Type, etc... and override graphics for them in View.

Done that as well. Trouble is, I cant see how to link the colours to a schedule with 'colour' rather than text. ie, I can get the schedule to say 'blue' but not show blue.

Accepted solution

color is not a parameter that you can schedule based on it , it's a graphic feature

Its fine mate. I can do a work around with filters, and filled regions next to the schedule table. Was hoping I wouldn't have to do that, up hey ho.

Thanks for the help fellas.

Would be a useful feature in future though...... Mr Autodesk???? Smiley Wink

You could use Condition statement on schedule to show color. But you would need to overlay multiple schedules if you need multiple colors.

Sounds complicated mate. I'll just use filled regions I think.
