Overconstrained geometry problem

Hello

I am trying to build in some design checks into my model to stop errant dimensions doing the unexpected and I have written an expression that checks a bearing - please see attached.  I want to change bearing4 (top right dimesion to bearing4checked but I receive an error. If I delete the dimension and try to create a new dimension and call it bearing4checked or even to replace the bearing4 after it was deleted, I receive the same error - overrestrained.

The same applies to bearing1.  Dimensions bearing2 and bearing3 changed ok but these dimensions lie outside the main parametric part of the model.

Any clues please?

Regards

I wasn't able to find exactly what is causing that error. I would suggest selecting that Reference Plane, activating the Move command, checking "Disjoin" on the Options Bar, and then moving it 0' in any direction. This will reset any constraints on this Reference Plane and delete the Dimensional Constraint(s). I only saw two constraints that were dependent on that plane: the right Opening Sketch Line and the Dimension, and I was able to reestablish these successfully.

Dear Corey D

I did as you described and the model now works perfectly.  I may have tracked the problem to my opening; I had the opening-boundary attached to the reference-lines 'unjoined'.

Many thanks. I bow to your learnedness.
