Notch problem in truss members

Hello,

Does anyone know how to resolve the issues shown in the pictures? When I notch steel members with different dimensions, the result looks like the one in the first picture, but I need a full cut. When I notch profiles with the same dimensions, I get the result shown in the second picture, but I need a flat cut.Notch problem.jpgNotch problem2.jpg

The Gaps are the Default Cutbacks in Revit - Properties Palette  Start/End Jon Cutback = 12.7mm

Are you using the Notch Tool from the Steel Tab?  If so you need to edit the distance Values to 0

It's not about gaps. i can solve that, but even that destroy my truss parametric design. Here is the problem on first picture, that smaller profile cut into bigger, and that is not right. Notch must to cut  profile with flat plane so that can be cutter on saw in production, and also to be able to create correct production documentation. Same is on the picture two.

Trusses are very limited in that respect as it's Centre Line Modelling if you are using the Truss Tool.

To have a fully automated solution you would need to edit the Skeleton of the Truss to ensure they did not clash with offsets from nodal points

Alternatively you could Remove the Truss Family and Manually edit the element positions

Trusses are to get a bit of an overhaul in future updates and well needed as at present they do not play nice like other framing elements so trying to edit them works a lot differently!

You could Create a Truss to get the Framework and then place Structural Framing and Bracing Elements onto this, so effectively tracing and then use the standard Reference Plane and Cut Tool to achieve you goal

Or you could use the Inventor to Revit method and use and Imported Family
