Hello Everyone,
I am struggling to convert an IFC model to an Analytical model in Revit.
[ How to convert model ]
- The model was opened in a structural template.
- opened from "File→open→IFC". "link" was not used.
- The Elements which I want to use as structural elements were imported as "Structural Columns" or "Structural Framing" or "Structural Beam Systems"
The model was successfully imported as a 3D model, however, nothing showed up in the Analytical model view...
When I clicked the column, it says "I am a Structural Column".
So I was thinking, theoretically, It should show up also in the Analytical model...
I think the way how I imported IFC data should have a problem...
Please give me a tip to solve my problem...!
Thanks

Hi @Anonymous
When I open the attached file and select the item, it is an in-place model so it will not have an analytical model.
You will have to create the analytical model, but it is a lot of work.

Hello @Jamhmer_Oc
Thank you for your answer!
I watched the video from the link which you attached.
Yes... It looks like a lot of work if I will do it for all elements...
Soooo.. Is it impossible to import the elements with analytical lines from IFC data automatically??
Is it still not supported as a function ??
I was thinking it is not that so difficult to generate the analytical lines from the imported model in Revit, as I can do it in other software...
Best,
Emi
Hi @Jamhmer_Oc
wow...It is sad news...however it was nice to know it.
I was believing that Revit is the best software to integrate the workflow through IFC data, also for structural analysis...
Thanks a lot for your advice 🙂
