Negative parameter values

Good day,

Negative parameter values are not accepted. There are some solutions on the forum *
But I couldn't do the same.

Purpose: the ability to move the ladder balusters in the direction opposite (negative)to the wall plane. see pic.

Show in more detail what parameters, how and where to do so that you can move the balusters with a negative value.

Thank you.

* if(Offset > 0 mm, Offset, 0 mm)

  if(Offset < 0 mm, abs(Offset), 0 mm)

Length can be negative but not when associated with a dimension.

What people generally do is place the datum you are offsetting from well into the negative direction and then offset from there with a +ve value based on difference e.g.

Say your datum plane is at -2m

Then your offset into +ve 1m would actually be 1-(-2) = 3

If you wanted 1m offset into -ve then that would be -1-(-2) =  1

So you can keep the offset from negative placed datum +ve.

Obviously with this approach your maximum -ve range is limited by the datum offset in that direction e.g. 2m in above example. The alternative would be objects controlled by visibility i.e. one offset by a +ve value into the -ve direction and one offset by a +ve value into the +ve direction (deciding on which is visible by a x > 0 formula etc.).

Could you please ...

Thx.
