Modifying Parameters of Custom Connection - End Plate With Bolts

Does anyone know how to modify the parameters of an existing connection? I have a knee brace going to a rafter and created an "End Plate With Bolts" connection. I created a Custom Connection so that I could use the same end plate and bolt dimensions throughout the project. Unfortunately, I need to change the end plate and bolt hole dimensions now. There doesn't seem to be a way to do it. I already made a mistake on the same connection so I have (2) custom connections for the same knee brace to rafter, one named "Knee Brace - Rafter" and the other named "Knee Brace - Rafter Correct"... Both are wrong 😕

Maybe there is a way to delete both custom connections and start over? See below.

I know only one method - break old custom connection, modify components, create new custom connection with other name, replace old type to new one.

Antoine,

Thank you for replying. However, this does not work for a "Custom Connection". The "Edit" button in the "Modify Parameters" section is grayed out. See below:

Hi,

currently you cannot edit object inside a custom connection...🙄 sorry.

the workflow i use is:

  • Edit original connection ; remove part i want to modify
    • But not all part, to maintain the connection set
  • create outside the connection, steel element i want plates/profiles/bolts etc
    • with previous step i can create at the same place than previous elements created but removed previously
  • go to the custom connection and add to the connection with edit command
  • check if newly created elements are propagated to others instances of my custom connection.

hope it helps !
