Hey all,

I was wondering about something.

How do you show a hairpin like in the picture i uploaded when you model rebar in 3D?

We have to show the rebar at an offset even though they are actually in the same layer, is this possible to do when you model rebar in 3D?detail 2.PNG

I believe not possible. but you can differentiate the rebar end by creating some detail family in the rebar shape  as shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFXTn00pmX8 ). Or use sofistik rebar detailing app.

Yes, you can do it. All you have to do is set you clearance for the straight rebar and place it. The you can come back and use the scketch option and draw the hairpin.

But if i draw it in the third layer, the schedule wont be realistic.

Since the hairpin uses less steel since it is smaller in the third layer in comparison to the first layer i now can't calculate the amount of steel in my project.

If you were to draw in your straight rebar, you wouldnt see the end of the hairpin since they are in the same layer right?

The video you posted doesnt show the problem im having with showing multiple pieces of rebar in one layer like the image i uploaded

If you want to see your rebar in the model you will have to adjust your clearance and placed them accordingly so you can see them in the model.  Yes I know they are in the same layer but you have to work with it. At the end the Rebar detailer will take care off all this.

All you want is to see you rebar in the model.
