Level with Alternate Display Name

Sections have the following two properties:

  • View Name
  • Title on Sheet

I need/want to emulate that ability/feature using a level label.  Our level names are quite long (and must be) but I want/need to shorten them in particular views.  I have tried to add parameters to the level head in an attempt to accomplish this without success.  Am I trying to do the impossible?  If I am, I sure wish Revit would have this feature in the next version.

What about using a spot level family with a custom parameter and label? Not exactly what you're looking for, just a thought off top of my head

You can Copy Monitor the original Levels to a new set, name them however short you want, put them in a separate workset.  When the original Levels change, run a Coordination Review to update the copy.
