We have had an issue with revit 2024 freezing (blue circle) when clicking around the model and found if we removed linked models, it would be fixed. But linked models is required.
Other users were not having the same issue with the same model.
Initially we tried reinstalling the computer and checking all possible common solutions.
But we noticed that the failing computer had recently been updated and when reinstall also auto installed updates.
Eventually we determined that we had disabled updates on the computers that were working.
The computer updated (Microsoft Security Update KB5051987) was installed most recently on the failing computer and stumbled on a few other computers with this update, found the issue in revit 2024 model and revit 2022 model. They all had the update and after uninstalling. The issue was fixed.
Reported issues were on models with linked models (network) that were temporarily being upgraded for the the main model. (not sure if relevant)
This issue was found in multiple computers, users, models and products.
Hope this helps anyone with this issue.
