Issues with revit 2019 connections

I have 3 WT members connected to an HSS column with a gusset plate connection. The connection family I’m using is called “Gusset plate for 3 diagonals”.
Everything was working well until I started spacing out my bolts from center of my beams/braces and they came off  completely! I'm trying to connect the WT flange with the plate but I can't find a way to do that.
Any idea of what I can do?
Below are some screenshots of the issue:

I still don't understand what is going on with the Revit out-of-the-box connection, but the tread did show me how to make my own custom connection which I think is what wants to happen here.
Thanks for the help!
