Impossible to create rebar form

I am currently working on a project where there is an arched connection at the junction of the walls. I would like to create a half-U shape, composed of an arc that continues straight along the wall to ensure the overlap of the bars. The shape is not accepted in the sketch, and I cannot find another solution. Attached is an image illustrating the desired shape of the bar. Thank you in advance!

I got it to work using FreeForm Rebar > Surface but had to create an Model In-Place Wall so it was ALL one component

Hello Jay! Yeah i was thinking about it, but this is not a solution i like 😞

I would prefer something that will not waste our time to remodel walls that are already done. We cannot relie on this for big projects which are already in execution phase.

Thank you anyway !

The only alternative would be to put in the Curve Element from the Standard Rebar Shape Library and then add a Hook at the end where it meets to straight wall.

Then duplicate a Hook Type in the Project Browser and edit the Angle to meet that in the model so it matches you sketch in the original post.

Finally for that bar with the new Hook tick the Hook Extension Length override in the Properties Palette to get the exact length of the straight element.

Sorry on train so not at PC so cannot add images but hope this makes sense!

Hi @vparpalac

You could sketch the bar in the shape you need, and change Geometry to Free Form.

This will create a free form rebar which reports the total length as if it is delivered as a straight bar and bent into place (workshop instructions > keep straight).

In your project, you can duplicate your 00 shape and rename it to something else (99), then select it as the shape that the keep straight FFR will report.

You can also configure the main segment (in the rebar shape family) to be some param you don't report in your typical schedule (J etc.) and manually write values to the ones you would like to report for this shape, directly in properties (A, B, C)
