Importing Reinforcement from Robot into Revit

Hello all,

I could not find any post regarding this issue and appreciate any help. So I have been using Revit for a long time and recently I am learning Robot Structural Analysis. I was amazed always by the videos where the structure is exported into Robot and then after design, the rebars are imported back to Revit. Many tutorials show that the rebar automatically go into their selected object, without any manual design.

Now coming to Revit and Robot 2023, I am following the same procedures and I am not able to get the rebar show in my Revit design. My workflow is like this:

- Design the physical model in Revit then create an analytical model

- Export the analytical to Robot and design Provided Reinforcement (columns and beams)

- Update the model and results from Robot back to Revit.

Now from the tutorials and old versions, the rebar should show in the physical model (3D view) and all I have to do is start documentation and checking. However for some reason it does not and I don't know what is the problem. Is this option or workflow possible in Revit 2023 or they have removed it? Is there any other way or new workflow to do documentation of reinforcement?

Can someone please explain it to me or direct me to a discussion where this issue has been discussed.

Best,

HRH

The Workflow is the same

- make sure you have the right sections and reinforcement in robot

- check visibility and graphics setting in revit

If my answer helped you please mark it as a solution, this allows others to find answers quickly........

thank you for the reply. I must be missing something because the sections are not changed, the visibility are all good and still have issues. I can see the reinforcement ratio in the results explorer, yet not within the section. I am attaching the project file in this reply too. I am just testing the procedure. The structure that I am using is a very simple 4 column, 4 beam concrete structure.

thanks,

I really appreciate some help with this, as I cannot find any resource on the internet! So far the situation is like this:

1- The required reinforcement file is transferred into Revit and it shows in the design explorer.

2- The visibility of rebars are all checked and not problem there.

3- When I add a custom rebar, after importing the data from Robot, the rebar shows. What I mean by that is imagine that you have a beam and you add your own rebar and everything works as expected.

It is just weird that the results show in the analyze tap but not in 3D

Thank you for any help!

The answer I got is that the option is not there anymore and what you have to do is redraw everything in Revit. If your goal is to add reinforcement, then you have to do it manually. Weird, but this is what it is 🙂
