Import IFCzip and it does not work

Hello,

I am trying to import an IFCzip file which was created by Archicad to Revit 2015 and it doesn't work. Revit stop responding while the IFCzip is loading. When it ends loading there is not any link on Manage Links options. I checked it by using Solibri Model viewer and it seemed to be fine. I also downloaded a IFC template and set it up on IFC options. It would be really helpful if someone had the same problem and finally solved it.

Many thanks.

Wellcome to the community:)

Kindly check the visibility option & see that all required elements are checked.

If its possible kindly share the IFC file.

Many thanks for your quick answer.

I checked the visibility option and it is right. I also tried to link the IFCzip file instead of opening it and the link even doesn't appear on the "Manage Links" option. I have got some different IFCzip files to make sure it is not a corrupt file. I tried to see it in all different disciplines (Architectural, coordination, structural...) but the problem persistes. I opened it in Revit 13,14,15 and 16 but there is not difference. The file size is about 200 megas.

I am wondering if there is some converter to convert ifczip files into ifc or any add-in which can help with this issue.

I really appreciate your interest.

Jose Fuentes.

I recently came across this same issue. Through some research I was able to determin this was simply a zipped IFC file. I was able to unzip the file through 7-Zip, and was able to import without any issue.  Hopefully this helps.

Make sure that you are unzipping the IFC file. I found that 7 zip (Which is a free download) works great.
